Most Mac users complain of lousy icons on their desktops and this is the reason why the demand for fresh Mac desktop icons is on the rise. But the problem is with the availability. This is because not all sites offer Mac based icons just as in any other case. Professional icons available out there are generally for windows and linux. Mac users can resort to some loyal websites dedicated entirely for Mac based resources but not all websites offer high quality icons.
Currently Microsoft brought a new angle to the use of icons by launching windows XP. Icons used in windows XP popularly know as XP style icons are becoming famous world over. Almost all professional applications today make use of XP style icons and many others are catching up. The best part about XP style icons is the fact that they can blend into applications almost effortlessly making them look unique and professional. It also gives an illusion to the user of the application that the icons where created specifically for the application. These great features are the reason why XP style icons are picking up. The sad fact is that XP styled icons cannot be used in Mac operating systems and in order to use them in Mac one needs to change the formatting which can affect the appearance of Mac desktop icons.
